If there’s one thing I know it’s that you should never underestimate the power of people from Ohio. Okay, so even if you weren’t a fan of “The Drew Carey Show”, you should still acquaint yourself with Dan Auerbach.
In fact you might already know him as 1/2 of the blues rock duo The Black Keys, but this Akron based bearded rocker has shed Patrick Carney in favor of exploring a surprisingly well rounded solo debut.
From his familiar Blues sound to noise-rock and even a little gospel and folk thrown in for good measure this album is just plain diverse. The glue that holds it together is Auerbach’s classic rock vocals and ability to craft a damn good song.
